Title: And yes, Another Dutch site
Post by: Luckyluke on October 16, 2008, 04:39:17 PM
Hi,

My daughter (15 years) wanted a site. By chance, I can buy the domain of my village where I live. This is in Sint-Michiels, a part of the well-known Bruges in Belgium. So, I helped my doughter with a site.

The site is here to see: www.sint-michiels.be (http://www.sint-michiels.be)

In the site you see following specifications:
- Argos1 template. Thank you Argos, I really love this nice template!
- Home page with random image (see sippets code in the addons)
- Home page with snippet to show when the site was last edited. See snippet here (https://forum.websitebaker.org/index.php/topic,%209968.msg58716.html%20#%20msg58716).
- Wheather info from www.meteoservices.be (http://www.meteoservices.be).
- Anynews in the template. Oops, there is a bug in the snippet anynews. It shows the info that is disabled. This is fixed by Doc. See post here (https://forum.websitebaker.org/index.php/topic,409.msg68839.html#msg68839).
- In the menu "Algemeen" is the photo of the week. That snippet, I must still import it from the forum (https://forum.websitebaker.org/index.php/topic,%2011162.0.html)
- In "photographs" I use Zenphoto (www.zenphoto.org (http://www.zenphoto.org))
- At "Diensten - Handel - Verenigingen" I hope to add the module address (https://forum.websitebaker.org/index.php/topic,%2010934.0.html) from Aldus.
- Forum is SMF. Unfortunately, I open a new page because I can not find a suitable wrapper. I use the FancyBox as a wrapper for the forum.

In other words, I've got some some work to do.

Greetings,
Luc

realy nice site! i like the style of the <h>'s!

....i've a little funny idea for the smf!

look at the threat with the fancybox!

Is it a bad idea to open the forum with a link style fancybox?

just a brainwave...... :-)

a kind of wrapper in a pop up (better than a new page i mean)

Hi,

Indeed, the fancybox is a nice module but not the best as a wrapper. It's a sort of iframe and I don't want an iframe. I like the way like this forum. The WB menu at the top, the forum and on the bottom the footer. I need a wrapper who automatic resize it's hight.

Grtz,
Luc

Hi,

My site was reported in the local newspaper. The photographer puts the picture on his blog site. You can see me and my doughter during an interview for the newspaper (http://www.fototbr.be/blog/archives/238).

Luc

Thx Stefek,

Ah, someone who can see I'm a nice person :-D
My ex-wife didn't like me afterall. But that's another story.

// off topic
My avatar? That's Gene Simmons, the bassist, singer of the rock group KISS. As you can see I'm a big fan of this group. This summer I was in Germany (Oberhausen) for a KISS concert. And to show how foolish we are, we even made a Kiss Tribute group. The site was also made with WB 2.7: www.kisstory.be

Luc

Hallo Luc.

I have allready seen your Tribute Page but I didn't went so much into it to see, that you're a part of a Band.
That's really cool (and justificates the sit with your Ex a little bit  ).

Life is creation and no one else just a artist know, how hard it can be following his own passion - time passes by and the things are changing fast.

But after all, following his own artistical intentions is - in the most cases - the best thing you can do.

By the way.
The fact that you have done a religious Homepage and that you are promoting it in this "proudly manner" is why I can see your Character (behind the Gene Avatar).  :-P

Regards from Germany,
Stefek
