Gonna take WB to its limits ;)
http://www.smg-groep.nl/
Just a sneak preview of what to come. Will have integrated codaslider for portfolio use.
Will post / upgrade this thread when full site will launch.
Built and design together with Jeremiah Wetzel & Roeland Visser.
Looks stylish and promising!
But: if I resize my window to 1024x780, the only thing I get to see is the header. No content at all! So in order to know what the page is about one needs to scroll at every page. A little awkward, to say the least.
Have you noticed that the backround image behind those beautiful ladies doesn't show in IE 6? Seems like a png issue.
Regards,
Vincent

Hi,
Nice site with the different colors. And the countdown has it's own color.
Even the ladies are beautiful to watch 8-)
BTW, the countdown is own work? We have a droplet for this but I like yours.
Grtz,
Luc
tnx luckyluke!
the countdown is bought on flashden.
@vincent: fixed the .png in IE6 ;)

I'm sorry, but I find the ticking counter VERY irritating... I thoght there was something wrong with my hardware until I found the source of the sound. It sounds like static electricity. Kinda scary...
There is also a horizontal scrollbar at 1024px width (17 inch monitor).
The fonts you use for headings look a bit ragged on Windows. I suspect you used Apple to create the site?
Dropping IE6 support may not be very smart if your target customers are other businesses. There are lots of IE6 users in companies, that don't have the freedom or knowledge to upgrade to another browser...

Hi Argos,
Thank you for the feedback.
The ticker is just e temp thing, countdown till the full launch of the site.
what does concern me is the horizontal scroll. I have tested it on different browser on different platforms in 1024 (because it should show without a horizontal scroll on 1024).
What browser are you using???
About the IE6 thing, its fully compatibel with IE6 even the trans. png's. Just strange that even now IE8 is shipped with window's we still support ie6...
Anyways thats a discussion that doesn't belong here.

IE7 on WinXP, 1024 resolution, 17 inch monitor. Must be a specific IE7 thing, as Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera, IE6 and IE8 don't show the scrollbar. Weird :-o

Still working on a lot of things... it's NOT 100% bugfree yet
Hi Grid8400,
Looks very professional! Well done.
And since it is such a professional site here some critical comments:
Organizations shouldn't open their site with information on themselves but with information that shows customers the benefits of chosing for them. In this case: smg-groep should seriously consider moving the second item of the main menu (Design) one place higher. The company will only interest prospects after they're convinced that the products they deliver are the ones they need.
Currently you have to pay attention to see the main navigation on the top at all. The root level could attract more attention, I think.
When clicking on 'design' it is not very clear where we are. I personally would prefer a jump to 'verpakkingen', which would make the navigation clearer (since 'verpakkingen' then would be white).
Otherwise: inspiring, clean code, chapeau.
Regards,
Vincent
Hi Vincent,
Thank you for you feedback. Very useful tips! tnx.
I agree with Vincent: very nice and professional design, but navigation and structure could use improvement.
