In FF 3.0.11 on Linux (Fedora 10) the last line of text in the box is "half hidden":

I see a horizontal scrollbar though (only tested in WinXP, IE7).
Would be nice if you should put the Google Map into the same square as the other images, so partly in the header...

you can use the modul slidehow2gallery from lousou76 with a different view.php (this file is included) to show such slideshows!
you can find it on AMASP

I have used: http://jonraasch.com/blog/a-simple-jquery-slideshow and its coded in the template, its not a module.
