Title: rebalton.com Finally, My [italian] site :D
Post by: leron on January 16, 2006, 06:00:29 PM
this is my site

http://francesco.rebalton.com

I have tried xoops, joomla, ecc... but WebsiteBaker is the best :D

I can't update to 2.6.1 (with the script after the update the menu not work correctly) so I'm waiting for 3.0 to rewrite the new site :)

looks very nice leron, nice use of colour and well presented. How is it you do the container boxes for each section and the guestbook? is it all CSS? i'm still new and playing around. Will you be releasing your template?

thanks :)

the guesbook and sections template is in html, but joined with the "general" css of the site (background images for the tables, dimensions, ecc..) :)

sorry for the language and the language of the site , I'm Italian :D

I can release the template, But I prefer to wait WB 3.0 to release this ( I want also write a "clear" code: now is a bit wrong and the menu is not true if you use Internet explorer )

PS: if you see it, the image on top-left of the site change every reload (with a rotator php script) :)

Don't know if you read the post of Ryan?

See: http://forum.WebsiteBaker.org/index.php/topic,2236.0/topicseen.html

Waiting for 3.0. can take a while. If you describe your problem in another thread maybe we can help you...

doh! I haven't read the post :(

so I have to rebuilt the site with 2.6.1 ? :(

the problem with the update is in the menu: If i update the site, many links of the menu sections are missing (home, guestbook...) snd If I publish a new category, many other categories disappear (sorry for the language)

I have tried many times, and the update procedure is correct

Ciao Francesco

Saluti, Virgilio

-----
short translation:
congratulation for the site / as WB 3.0 won't be published in the near future i asked francesco (leron) if he would be willing to release his wonderful template to the forum / i mentioned also that i didn't succed (several times) to install WB 2.6.1 and therefore I still work with 2.5.2
(Next week I will go and visit Attila, maybe he can help me out)

[ITALIANO]
ciao :)

[ENGLISH (or nearly :D)]

For 15-20 days I have to study for some exams, but as soon as I have time I can "clean" the code of this template and post it to the forum

there is a preview of a new template http://prova.rebalton.com/ made to replace the current template

what do you think?

the gallery is this module (http://forum.websitebaker.org/index.php/topic,1201.0.html)

and... for kweitzel (I haven't see your post) yes, the navigation is dynamic (If I create a New content the menu is automatically updated)

It's a very attractive site but very slow loading on dialup. I checked the file size on some of your images and they could really stand a bit more web optimization. The background images for just the header come it at 40K.

Also I wonder why so much empty space at the bottom of the about me page?

Looks nice. What kind of download gallery are you using? I see your version also keeps track on the number of downloads. Did you modified the original gallery or is this some custom work?

Template looks nice. Very nice that it is now tableless....

the download section is only "Pafiledb", a standalone script included with the wrapper

I have search for a WB module but i haven't found nothing similar to this

Thanx for this note. The only module that is simular to your download section is: Download Gallery (http://forum.websitebaker.org/index.php/topic,1293.msg12594.html#msg12594). Although this module does not have a count, vote, etc. options...
