Hi,
Just wanted to show two new websites I have build for friends:
www.vakantiehuisinbrazilie.nl (http://www.vakantiehuisinbrazilie.nl)
- Works fine, now working on SEO
www.babyenkleuterhuis.com (http://www.babyenkleuterhuis.com)
- Upgrading to WB 2.7 broke the template due to the "anchors", need to fix it.. fast...
- Only 1 template (extra content field (code field) used changing visuals)
- work in progress, need to build IE6 template
- Ajax loading is fake and just for esthetics
- Need to upgrade to WB 2.7
Know issues:
Mark-up validation
- most pages validate (my templates are ok), except when I use
- usage of external services (for instance bookingtracker)
- some modules have xhtml errors (eg. form module writes style declaration on <body> instead of <head>)
Slow loading
- I found a great free SEO tool called Goingup! unfortunately they have a slow server.
Feedback is always welcome.
Enjoy!
All the best,
Dennis
P.s. Because you took time to read this post, hereunder three things you may find handy:
- http://www.goingup.com (http://www.goingup.com) - free SEO / tracking tool
- http://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE (http://tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE) - install older IE versions for testing compatibility
- http://code.google.com/p/ie7-js/ (http://code.google.com/p/ie7-js/) - small script to "fix" IE6
Try to use google analytics for real statistics. On secodn website drop down menu has ugly colours, I can`t see text when I hover on it. Don`t use redirections.
Hi Deschek,
Thanks for the feedback.
The menu color of the www.babyenkleuterhuis.com was actually based on a Kuler suggestion, since I used various variations per menu item. Unfortunately WB 2.7 broke the template so I changed it back to my original design.
I also signed up for Google Analytics, since GoingUp!'s servers are to slow (good service, though) and implemented a IE6 version of the template (needs finetuning).
Rgards,
Dennis
