Title: Just gone live - my latest hotel website using wb
Post by: sparkdigital on June 03, 2008, 06:09:49 PM
My latest hotel website for a small hotel in the UK has gone live - just the meta tags to do now. The site uses multiple menus, news mod, lightbox and pagecloner mods. And I think it all looks kinda neat! The client is happy and very impressed with the ease of updating the site. Thanks wb!

Nice. Very clean. Where did you get the mod for Booking Online? I like that feature.

Thanks! The online booking is not a mod - instead I just implemented the script made available by the online booking folks...

Hi, Which template did you modified from? I like the clean look.

Sorry, I didn't use a template to start from, I designed and coded it from scratch. All images, including the header and the sides can be altered using the admin sections.

nice ! the only slight criticism is the top image isnt in a fixed height container, so the content loads high and is then pushed down as the image loads, which looks kinda messy... other than that, great :)

Your website looks clean & easy to navigate. There are errors in your "Enquiries" page though. The 'Book Online' link is dead. The captcha box is visible but no captcha displayed to read from and the newsletter text is displayed twice.

Your "Brochure Request" page also has the captcha error.

Hi hrioo,

Thanks for your response - I've changed the book online link and the double header in the form but the captcha appears fine for me - what browser are you using?

Thanks,

Konrad

Ah! I'm using Firefox 2 (with Adblock Plus extension disabled) and no captcha appears, however i just tried it with Opera & ie and it does appear in both.

I don't know what's the reason but have you noticed that your html & css have errors and do not validate?

It seems to be related to a few issues: opaque in ff, the flash movie (simply embedded using fck editor) and the external online booking script - I'll have a look into these when I have a minute!

Thanks,

Konrad

Nice..just have a small issue width background.jpg because it is too small for my wide screen 1920x1200pix. Maybe you shuld set it to repeat-x?

Thanks Lotus,

I'll probably just make it a bit wider next time I do some updates on it as it needs to be set to be centered.
