Build dynamic menus: Add a page to multiple parents / categories / pages / tags

Hi Konrad,

Have a look at this new module.
It's not what you asked for, but you might be able to use it.
It uses the "Global Blocks" idea. You can add any section of your site to any other page.

Hi,

A recent thread made me think about this again: I would really like to be able to add a new page to multiple parents (this doesn't have to be literally!) or to rephrase it: make it show in various menus. For instance:

I have a website on holiday cottages and add a new page about a holiday cottage in Devon. So I add it as a child page to the parent page 'Devon'. This would be its main category / parent. But it's also near the sea and I happen to have a page on 'Holiday cottages near the sea' so I would like it to show in the menu as a subpage to this page too. And finally they are nice enough to allow dogs so I would like it to show in my menu as a subpage to the page 'Holiday cottages that allow dogs'.

These two additional links can still point to the original location (child page to 'Devon') so it obviously doesn't mean the page has to be in three locations.

I know there's always the 'menu link' option but this would be a bit tedious for larger sites - also, when I delete a page it would be hard to avoid having some other old links to it elsewhere on the site if I go down this route, so it would be nice if it could be done dynamically through a mod.

Wordpress has a nice function for this by assigning tags to the page and you can tick boxes for existing tags - these then can work as an additional menu structure. I know Rob has done something similar for the news mod (haven't tried this myself):

and Panther was asking about it here:

This would really make a big difference to me so I just wanted to see if there was anyone who wanted to take this on as a paid job - please let me know what your thoughts are or if you need some more info.

Thanks,

Konrad
