can't delete images in template

kweitzel

Hi Irene,

quite a lot depends on the setup of the server 7 webspace your ISP provides you. Sometimes it's hassle free, but there are servers, which are not easy to use ... unfortunately.

Klaus,

Thank you very much as well, it worked!

It seems odd to me, that it did'nt work what I did earlier. With several sites it was not a problem at all to upload the template via WB and than to chmod in wsftp. This was the first time it didn't work properly.......

I truely thought  it was a server problem!

Irene,

You can try it with PHP filemanager

Upload the fm.php (attached in the zip) to your webspace
Run it with your browser

You can browse, chmod, delete etc. the folders and files on your webspace.
Simple but powerfull.

First I trie to do it Klaus'way.
I uninstalled but than, since I allready installed the folder cms with the whole website baker in it that I deleted to try to start over,  there is only one subfolder folder left there: template/a bit modern. That file I cannot delete and al the documents are automatically uploaded to that folder.  :|
First I should delete that folder but from the webbaker module, it cannot be done since all the other files are deleted.....

Hellup.....

Any suggestions????

Hi Irene,

maybe, as described by kweizel, the permission of the folder, not the file.

But if You aren´t sure or unlucky with that, collect the module webbaseedit - this installs as admin-tool.
with this part You can delete it - but be aware - You could delete everything and something wrong.

I bet if you get down to it it is a mix of Ownership / permission ...

1) Template was uploaded by WB - the files belong to the webserver-user (www-run, apache, etc)
2) You chmodded with ftp-user, who does not have the right to do it, so it fails ...

Result: The files can not be deleted via FTP.

Workaround:

Download the template folder and then uninstall the template within WB ... the re-upload the template via ftp. Use the admin-tool "reload add-ons" to reload the templates. Done ...

Hi there,

I try tot delete some images within the template to replace them. The server is linux. Can that be the reason for that?
When I upload images in media then I can delete the images in ftp. But NOT from the template. There is a persmission problem But I have chmodded the files to 777. What could it be?
