WB at bigger Sites (>1000 Pages)

Stefek

Hello,
I am working on something which speeds the loading time in the pages-tree a little.
Have no chance to test it on a large live site.
If someone is interested  to test on a live installation, please PM me.

It will take me one day to provide the downloadlink, for today I am really busy.

Note: I won't provide a downloadlink for the broad use here. This is one of my privat projects and has nothing to do with the Marketing Team Activities.

Regards,
Christian Stefan

Thanks for the info!
It is an interesting add-on indeed.

However this is no real alternative to the backend administration.
I also need to add new sites constantly and re-sort the pages that are added - something quite comfortable with the added drag'n'drop feature that came in WB 2.7. But the backend is essential in order to do so.

So a possibility that the backend for example loads the sub-pages once you unfold the tree of the parent-page or something like that (to speed up loading times) would be very welcome.

Have a nice day!

Well, the slow response-time when working in the backend is something that I already mentioned somewhere. Although my website features "only" about 670 pages.
Especially opening the "Pages" overview in the admin-backend takes almost a minute, why I am opening that only once a session and opening the subpages in seperate tabs.

However I also get the feeling that the frontend is a bit slower than it used to be.
But that might just be my imagination.

If you wanna take a look, you'll find my website at http://treffpunkt-kritik.de .
And as always, I'm looking forward to updates to WebsiteBaker.

Best regards,
VSG

The problem is, that the frontend is slow, because all pages are loaded before they get hidden, etc.

Here you speak of frontend, but I think you mean backend as you posted in German forum

Questions,
if it is the backend, does this only occur in admin->pages?
And if you edit a page, when you go back to the pages list does the same slowness exist again?

If it is frontend, whay menu calls do you use?

What is happening with that number of pages is that the generation of the html takes time, the html output will be huge this allso affects the downloadspeed of that page.
If it is the backend, thngs can be done by paging the output of pages for example
If it is the frontend, I need to see the output of such a page to see where the problem lies

Remember that a small routine wich consumes just a fraction of a second might be huge when it is repeated 1300 times.

Dear community,
i'm working with wp 2.7, the Project has now reached about 1.300 Pages (+ a Blog with >1.000 entries, nucleus via inlinewrapper).
The problem is, that the frontend is slow, because all pages are loaded before they get hidden, etc.
I tried wb3, but got only the "under construction page" will have a closer look later.

Finaly i thought about moving to wordpress, siverstripe or whatever. Since i couldn't find a migration script and i think it will take a weekend if i am writing one.

Is there anyone here who has had the same problems and got a solution or wrote a migration script?
