License issue's and questions - HELP ME

ruebenwurzel

Hello,

WB is released under GNU GPL. This means that all copyright notices and links wich points to this License must be stay intact.

The name WebsiteBaker and the link to WebsiteBaker.org is not protected by this License. So removing it is no License issue.

But if you remove it and earn your money with this as you say winner of CMS Systems it would be desirable to donate something to the devs and the community as we are developping and maintain this System just for free.

Quotewebsite baker is no secrect i think !?!....
Martin ?

In our country yes....as far as i can ascertain? i am the only one openly supporting and marketing it

Quotethe question is if you loosing clients - WHY ?

Sorry ? i meant possible clients.....

As far as the rest of your comments go ? i am a one man business doing everything from  hosting/some scripting and graphic design. thus my marketing skills suck big time and i rely on the information on my website to sell my products and services.

Last year i gained a few clients from someone who copied my services but could not provide the level of WB i am providing in terms of the use and templating skills...but that is not a big issue for me....

Martin ? i see that this issue is being discussed on another post....so i and reading that with interest as i am sure that could be my resolve

Two post down from this is is the topic - License breach or not?

Thnx for your comments

Quotebut I have lost clients due to my competition seeing what i am doing and copying my services and products
QuoteThe website baker product i offer customers includes the installation of this wonderful cms system with the creation of a template and the hosting for one year. additionally i create and fill the first 7 pages for them after which i offer them online training

Quotethe time i spent learning about WB, finding and researching the best CMS system...
QuoteI spend months searching, downloading and testing every CMS system
your competition must do this, too or they will fail and the customers will come back if the not satisfying...by them! was they satisfyed by you - is the question -

the real only advace of your competition is that they know that you work with website baker - ok thats the fact!

but the main difference in service is th HOW (quality) and also the price (the value of THE work)!

ask you what they make better they catching clients from you and what brand these clients are.....

the issue of a good product equal if its free or paid.... IS that everyone WHO CAN can work with!

but if you will make and always did your work WITH the product good (or better than others) you'll have no problems....

the searching for a good CMS can everyone everytime - this is the WEB... :-D

i have been using website baker as a product in my business.

The website baker product i offer customers includes the installation of this wonderful cms system with the creation of a template and the hosting for one year. additionally i create and fill the first 7 pages for them after which i offer them online training. My fee charged barely cover my time spend doing the training and the template makeup but my motivation is not for the service but rather to build up a fixed client base for my hosting service. which now stands at 60.

My question is....

How do i prevent my competition from seeing what i am doing and with what i am doing it with ?

I am not trying to bypass the license issue but I have lost clients due to my competition seeing what i am doing and copying my services and products, and in the process robbing me of the time i spent learning about WB, finding and researching the best CMS system... Now they just surf past my site and my customers sites and view the links back to WebsiteBaker and there goes my product secrets and service tactics out the window ?

I spend months searching, downloading and testing every CMS system on the market even paid versions and Website baker was the winner and now they are riding on my research to just copy my offers !

Any ideas ? comments?

Thnx
Sam
