some dreamee features...

A "Save All Sections" button would be nice, but I fear this cannot be a WB-function in general; the job must be done by each module itself (and maybe can be started by a WB Javascript call)

A module needs to have a special save.php, which doesnt redirect to the modify page again, but save "quite" and show success without redirect. This could be made with an iFrame or AJAX.

Some of the main modules like WYSIWYG or code should have this feature.

1. Block section names....

why ? because i've got a load of sections per pages, and some of them are the same kind (code) and this is hard to find when you've got a page load of section to mod... thoses names would be repeated in mod page.

I would pay for that....

Hi,

Just some thoughts,

1) I don't understand when you say Block Names what do those differ from the existing ones?
I mean if you label the blocks right (for example left links, main center block,  top right menu etc) then why is it difficult to find a specific section?

I think when you want to change something you first see that on the public webpage so if its in the left menu for example you will go and edit the section that is positioned on the left menu.

I 've created a small patch that will display all info on the "Manage sections" page to the top of every section on the "Modify Page". It also adds some anchors and can take you eight on the specific block when clicking on it from the manage sections page.

2) I think if you get the labels from every page and load them on the frontpage you will still have a problem understanding which one is which. You wont even remember where that name was. The logical sequence is first to get to the Manage Sections page and then click exactly on the section you wish to edit.

3) Loading multiple editors makes the modify page reeeally slow. That is why I made the backend mod that loads an editor only on the section you want. It's really faster loading one editor at the time and saving (the page loads reeealy fast! nomatter how many sections). The save all button is a nice idea but it is really risky to use. If the browser changes something because of saved form data or if the contents of all the blokcs are too much it could give an error and you could loose some sections/save incorrectly some others.

Even if it was there I wouldn't use it. I would just prefer faster loading.

4) The ajax idea i really liked. You can continue modifying without leaving the page. That would be even faster.
We should do this.

LS

Great ideas! It would be very helpful to give sections a name. I have some sites with many sections and often I must count e.g. when I like to delete one section.

I don´t know how often I worked in two or more sections at the same time before I remembered that I can save only one :x. "Save all sections" should really be standard.

Here some thought about featured i'd like in WB...

shure, thoses are dreams! not possible for all... i know i've done some plugins and templates...

But some are possible...

1. Block section names....

why ? because i've got a load of sections per pages, and some of them are the same kind (code) and this is hard to find when you've got a page load of section to mod... thoses names would be repeated in mod page.

2. with the named section, why not give a direct link to mod a section in the pages page... ?

and the dreadfull load of section means a lotta saves to do for changing a page...

3. ajax saves, and save the f*cking page!

Saving section in AJAX so that if your confused and changed 2 or more section in the page, you dont lose all other work when reloading... and a "Save All Sections" to save the page...

have you got some dream features ?
