The banning several users from the WebsiteBaker forum.

Luisehahne

A discussion was going on in the forum where things were said that were potentially harmful for the WebsiteBaker community.
As a reaction to this discussion, one of our forum administrators (Klaus) found no other option than to temporarily ban the users in this discussion.
Effectively 3 users were banned for a period of 7 days, to allow them to cool-down and resume their activity in the forum on a normal way.

After reviewing what has been said, we found that one of the users was not actively involved in a way where banning was the right thing to do, so by this message we would like to apologise to him for the fact that he was banned from the forum, and at this time his ban has been removed.
Unfortunately we are not able to contact him directly, so please see this message as our apology.

The discussions about this kind of penalty in the forum as well as externally by email to all board members has been overwhelming.
We recognise it is seen as a very hard penalty. On the other hand, it is the only way discussions that are not in the best interest of the community can be stopped.
WebsiteBaker believes in the right of "Freedom of speech", so basically you can say whatever you like. You are allowed to complain about the way the CMS is working, but when community members are being attacked personally we feel the forum administrators have the right to stop this any way they seem fit.
If any group of 2 or more people want to have a personal verbal fight, they are welcome to do so, but not in our public WebsiteBaker forum.

Since removing the ban for one of the 3 users in the discussion did not seem fair (despite of the individual level of involvement in the discussion), we will remove the ban for all three community members effective from the time of posting this message.

Finally we want to ask everybody involved in the WebsiteBaker community:
Please respect other members, and their opinions..
Let us concentrate on making WebsiteBaker better.. (Not war..)
