Modify the head of any WYSIWYG page

kweitzel

So you what exactly do you want to customize? Just saying "the data between the head-tags" is quite a wide explanation. You could for instance use the complete WEBSITE_HEADER function to achieve what you want and put the required meta-tags in the header field and you have achieved what you want. In the site wide option you put the sidewide tags ... in the page options you put the page wide tags. You'd need to put ALL tags in there ... or just the ones which are supposed to differ.

Have a look here at the functions WB offers you ... you might find something interesting there ;)

In general, be a bit imaginative, you can achieve quite some good things with WB, more than you might think of at first  :-D

Hi Klaus

I did read it. But I could not see a field for modifying the head section of that page.

Hello Dietmar

Yes, I guess so.

ps. Noting how keywords meta data is now ignored by the search engines, is it worth having that keywords field in the page settings any more?

Nicky,

if that is what you need, I suggest you read the help-page because what I linked is what we already have.

if i understood you, in my point of view is to create a page module. it's the easiest way and it isn't needed to change the core.

Note: Once the code has been generated, it is easy to debug. It's not a bug, it's a feature!

Hi Klaus

Yes, that's it exactly! Adding a field to modify the data between the <head> and </head> of that particular page to override the general site settings would be super!

Hi WB

Perhaps this has already been answered, but if not, an idea for the next WB release?

Would it be possible to, when adding a new WYSIWYG page, modify the head section of that particular page. Of course, this can be done site-wide but I have not found a way to do this for a single page or for a few pages of a WB site.

Here's a real example. I have a WB site of 149 pages. One of those pages is all about halloween and local scary events  :-)  I have some very neat and scary javascript bats flying around the page but as I needed to add part of the script to the head, it affects all the pages on the site. It's not a big issue, as it all about spooky fun, but it's not really appropriate having flying bats on some of that site's pages! :-D

This head mod might help too by being able to install different page-metas as opposed to the site-wide default.

Any ideas?

Regards, Nicky.
