Added users cannot add/edit pages

No, not that. It was the hidden "Advanced Options": at first I didn't realize, that I should check some checkboxes there, too. But thanks anyway!  :-)

Happy to hear you got it worked out.  What was your particular issue?  Were you at all confused by the "Administrators:" heading on the page Page Settings page?

Topiax

This finally helped! Thank you!!!  :-)

To emphasize what evaki explained.  Here are some things to check.

Make sure you have the Pages "Advanced Options" set for the group:

If you just select Pages, the group will only have "View" permissions.

Here are the minimum Advanced Settings to be able to "Add" and "Edit Content":

If you like, you can add the group permissions to a page, when you create (Add) it:

If you want to add group permissions to a page after it's been created, or if you want to change group permissions for a page, you can do so on the "Change Settings" tab of the Page:

Hope this helps.

QuoteNow that I look at this, I am wondering if the heading of "Administrators:" might be somewhat misleading for these permission dialogues.

this picture show's, that this usergroup has at minimum one of the permissions to admin on this page. it's not possible, to display here every permission

to remember a example: you have not only one usergroup, you have (maybe) 20 Groups, and maybe, it's a registered page, then you have the same row also on the right side for allowed visitors in frontend

My point is not that every permission of every user group should be listed here.  I am fine with the selections provided.  My point is that the Heading term "Administrators:" is ambiguous.  It does not clearly make the point that it just means that those selected have "at minimum one of the permissions to admin on this page".  "Registered Viewers" is a bit more clear, but still not blatantly.

I haven't spent a lot of time pondering this, but perhaps something along the lines of "Backend Permissions:" and "Frontend Permissions:" as headings might possibly be something to consider.  I'm not trying to tip over the apple cart here, it's just something that came to my attention from reading the OP.  If no one else feels that consideration of this type is of any benefit, then please ignore it.

and then look back to wb 2.8.4 and the possibility, to set this permissions to a special user instead of a user-group

I have never seen 2.8.4 and so I have absolutely no knowledge of what it did or didn't offer.  I was around when it was being developed, and I know you and a select few others were testing (and even using) it, but I was not one of them.

Some might take this to mean that you are giving the "member" group (which is likely restricted in some respect) full Administrators permissions for this Page?

Hi,

1. installed WB 2.10.0 and added some pages on the site.
2. added user groups and some users to each.
3. the problem: new (added) users cannot add new pages nor edit existing ones.

Changing filesystem permissions in Settings has no effect nor does changing page permissions or user / group permissons.
Only way to enable added users to add/modify pages is ti give them Admin privileges.

Is there any solution for this problem?
