i can't help myself from being in love with tables :P

btw it is awfulley cuiet around here (wbsitebaker forum).....

of is it just me....

kweitzel

I see ... and agree ... most probably IE.

Anyway, there is also more good information here: css.maxdesign.com.au they do a "floatutorial" which I started with after beeing fed up with the tables as design element.

i am almost certain that it will be 99% IE......

it is a website for courses like bloemschikken and cooking (i don't know the english word for bloemschikken, but astalavista says: to arrange flowers :P) so, most of the time it will be housewifes visiting... :D

thnx for the website btw.

I know what you mean ... have a look at www.positioniseverything.net they have explanations about the different display bugs/features.

Another Hint: What Browsers do your Visitors use? On 1 of my sites it is more than 95% IE, so I optimised that site for IE, on another one it is FF (in the same pecentage). Guess what I did there?

Also on the site I mentioned above is the P.I.E Pagemaker, a very handy tool for layout development. The generated layouts are cross browser compatible. So, if I don't know, what my visitors will use (like on a completly new site) I will use that as base for my templates.

thnx....
those are exactley the points i was thinking off myself....

but is is extremeley difficult to get it right in IE as well as FF

kweitzel

not bad ... but room for improvements :-)

1) The menu: In the sub menus the design is a little bit more to the left than to the right. Try centering it or align it to the left (but with this design I would center it).

2) The Searchbox: I would try to make them the same size as the main menu options. But that means, you will have to play around a bit with the sizes (Standart Box is bigger than Standart Button, than again, you don't use standart there).

3) The images on the welcome page could do with a bit of padding towards the text side. Set a margin or padding to the right, top and bottom side of the image if the image is on the left and if the image is on the right, do the same, just the padding left instead of right.

but, keep on, it looks promising already!

looks very promising. I like 'light' & fast websites and your design looks exactly like that!
