Create a menu item without a page

Hi All,

I want to add a menu item, say Research, that when clicked on it displays the child menus.  I want to do this without changing the displayed page.  So regardless of where you are on the website if you click on, say again, Research all the happens is that the child menus are now visible but the page content stays the same.

Any help would be appreciated.
