First WebsiteBaker site

Hi Oliver,

The site is beautiful!!!
I am looking for something like this. Have you made the website yourself or have you adapted a template? If so, which template did you use?

Sincerely,
straccia

Nice job, well done! Maybe you could see if you could integrate the mp3's into the template using an embedded media player or something rather than opening a new window but a part from that very nice!

The analytics code is working with WB very well.
Just add the generated JS before the closing body tag  (</body>)
Add the generated javascript code from Google Analytics in your template and it works fine!

Analytics will not work good on this site, at begining you have redirect to /pages/intro.php, you will not have data about what people ask google to get your site because for statistics source will be not query in search engine but redirection. You can make start page with different template and different menu so it will still be start page but not seen in inner pages menu.

Nice Job, very well coordinated colors and menus. The only thing I would consider is maiking the background "fixed" so when when you scroll through a long page the background stays in place.

Very attractive site. Nice job on the design.

A couple of minor things that you might want to address:

  • As Ruud mentioned, your newsblock overflows the page in FF3.
  • There are a couple of minor XHTML validation errors.
  • On your intro.php page...probably much faster/cleaner to use CSS hover instead of JS for your hover effect.

Ruud

Good looking site.

One advice, have a look with Firefox too. Your homepage newsblock is not showed correctly.

Also, the link on the multimedia page below the image  is not working.

About the analytics: If it takes too long (i.e. 2 days or so)

Google will test your main (splash) page.
It is known that other scripts can interfere with the google scripts.
The solution is to put the google script in the header section before any other script.
In your case, you should only have to do this for your intro.php page, it looks like the other pages are good.

Cheers,

Ruud

Nice design.

Analytics need some time to start working, I think cuple hours.

Hi,

I completed my first WebsiteBaker site a few months ago but just thought of posting it here.

www.CatherineGrenier.com

BTW, I've tried installing Google Analytics but I can't get it to validate in Google. I put the code into the templates in the index.php files and also added it to the splash screen (intro.php). When I click to Check Status in Google Analytics, I just get the message:

Tracking Unknown (Last checked: 2008-07-08 11:16 AM PST.)
The Google Analytics tracking code has not been detected on your website's home page. For Analytics to function, you or your web administrator must add the code to each page of your website.

I would appreciate any help with this, and any other comments people might have.

Thanks!
Olivier
