Testing for IE6

WebBird

For Windows Users: Use IETester (http://www.my-debugbar.com/wiki/IETester/HomePage) to view the page in all IE versions from 5.5 up to 8. (by now) This tool does NOT make Screenshots, it shows the page working!

To have a short look on how the page looks like in other browsers, try http://browsershots.org/
This service creates screenshots. It's enough to see if a page is completely broken in exotic browsers or good enough for all of them. ;)

Although this thread hasn't been updated for some months I would like to present my solution:

Internet Explorer Application Compatibility VPC Image (XP3 with either IE6, IE7, IE8)

Microsoft Virtual PC (The software to run the image above)

Installation was straightforward - had no problems with it.

Hope this helps.

Hi bakers,

I was wondering how you test your creations for IE6. I run Vista so, i cannot use the Tredosoft software. I came across various blogs about testing using the an image from that includes XP and IE6, but i don't feel like using that.

After searching some more i found IETester at debugbar.com and i does the job.
