modified templates do not work in 2.8

I'm modifying a css based template to use with WB 2.8 RC1.

I cannot get any modified template to work, though they seem to upload OK. I get nothing, no source to view in the browser. Just a blank page.

I'm including the correct tags where i want content etc and modified an existing info.php file to use.

I've previously worked with WB 2.6 and never had any problems with modifying templates to use. Not having the same luck with 2.8.

Downloaded templates from this website work fine.

Can anyone advice?
