We just have to keep this tread alive until they change it... someday, Somewhere, Somehow they will hear us...

Hello Moritz,

of course it is possible to reorganize the forum - but that's a decision of the Forum team.  8-) So as long as they don't say anything any discussion will be quite useless.

Yours Michael

PS: I would love to see this uploading feature being disabled, also linking templates and modules... But that would be such a big change to everything and such a big blow to the whole Addon/Template-caring...

But MAYBE(!!!) it is a possibility to reorganice the forum and make a "one navi for all langue" not every language at the same section but for example use the same structure in germen and english. I like the english order and missing this in german section.
After this put all general topics unter general with defauld language english. that would be the showcase/showcase develop, modul/modul develop, patches/core patches (not officiel like the one form stefek), and jquery
(main forum/subforum). The normal sections are open just for questions than and nothing get "lost". I think it's hard to find a modul topic between all the modul problems and howto questions. Also releases are posted within the helping and so on... In general there can be just one treat for every modul, no howto questions, just bugfixing solutions and every new version posted in this tiopic.

It's just my thinging but maybe it's a good solution for all of us.

Well that is a matter of general forum set-up, forum rules, community culture and forum moderators. All points mentioned goes hand in hand and it needs time until a new approach is established and digested by the entire community :-)

Well, I know that, especially since I changed some subforums here some years ago. 8-)

Hi,

Quote from: waldschweinBut the other problem about too many subforums are: People don't stick to them.

Guess at the beginning a lot of posts will get moved by admins until the structure of the forum board gets visible to all forum users :-)

Hello,

well, of course there is the wish to have more subforums: Especially the module forums should be divided to support / "presentation" / "forum for module authors", same with templates, and why not for created sites. For new visitors it's just a whole bunch of everything somewhere and hard to see that what they really want. But the other problem about too many subforums are: People don't stick to them. We have here several language forums at the board - so many good things e.g. discussed in the Dutch forum up to 95% of the visitors just don't look at. So reviewing sites has in general only to do with templates, so there could be a template subforum... Or perhaps the hard way of some more, but as I said: People don't stick to them. And there are different languages. Just two links to think about:

Well, this post that was started, was viewed over 400 times. More people should voice their opinion on this. It would be great to hear what others think. I have been seeing a few other posts similar to the one I had posted in regards to asking for assistance with their websites. There just might be a need for another area specific for this. Just my opinion.
I would like to post but do not want to upset the moderators in posting in a wrong area for the community to give some feedback for my site.
I would like to hear the opinions from the board designers and/or moderators on the ideas presented here.

Thanks,

Michael

Maybe just a subpage in showcase... So it's easy to make a diffrens between both. I have one side by myself were I don't want to publish jet because the template is under construction and maybe someone just can give me a hint...

You mean something like this: http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=12?

I think that wouldn't be a bad idea - could it run alongside 'Showcase' and maybe call it 'Review / Critique' like on sitepoint?

Sorry, I have not read this obviously .

But at the end I did not see any need to create a new board for this.
If I would like to have a feedback to a site in development I would post it in the support board.
But this is only my thought

And why not use this one as WebBird supposed?

Or post you site with question during the process within the support board.
I can see no reasons to create a new board or something like this.

Erpe,

I did post a non live site on the board under showcase and was commented on that this wasn't the place to do that and to post the site when it was complete. I have no problem doing just that, but my though was to see if maybe another topic regarding your site that is still in development could be posted. This way you could get your site critiqued and corrected by the community, thus putting a better site on the web with the help of this WB community.

LordDarkman has quoted what was inserted in my post of my non live site.

I am not upset, just wanted to see if I could get some feedback to better it. Maybe if enough people ask, there could be a topic created just for site feedback. I know that we all want to product the best site available and make a great name for WB.

Thank you for your thoughts.

Because of thi sentens. Ok it is a possibility to show in normal helb but since there is no question (beside "what do you thing") it was an idea. If it's ok to post templates under construction in the sshowcse there is no reason to open something new but maybe a delelobment forum caan be used for much more, not only templates. It could be the right place for alfaa relese modules and so on...

If I may add, I know of other places that state that in order to post you developing website for review, then you would have to leave a link to say WB. After you are ready to make it live, you may remove the link to WB, but I say with such a great community like this, leave it in somewhere. Just a thought, but I am happy to see that there are others that think similiar to me on this subject of having a place to have our sites critiqued. Might not all be positive so we all have to have an open mind when getting feedback. Thank you for you time.

Vincent

Good idea to have a special place for design questions, apart from the one to show off with finished sites.

Vincent

LordDarkman

thats the wrong place to show a site under develobment.  so we thing their shoud be somethink special to get feetback.

CU Moritz

LordDarkman

I think that's a good Idea. Sometimes it's better to show your website in develobment and ask for questions, than bugfix it after everything is done. I thing it's not so good to show it unter help or something because you want to have comments and not asking for help with one problem.

CU Moritz

Is there a place where those who use WB can post a website for feedback. This would be very beneficial for all since we are using WB to make the webiste, so why not get some feedback through the design process.

Thank you in advance for your answers and support.
