A WebsiteBaker Showcase

Panther

Ok, I got off my lazy tail and did a from-scratch design for this site instead of using a regular template.

It's all CSS, and while it looks best in Firefox, I got it pretty damn close in IE.

I played around with multiple content sections, specifically for use on this site. Since this site is for talking about different WB modules and such, the examples go in the main content section.

Above that tho, surrounding the page title, I put a highlighted block for a bit of an introduction... and as a bonus, the section effectively disappears when not being used.

Sorta the same for the third section just above the footer. It does disappear (leaving a double, horizontal divider line) in Firefox. In IE, it doesn't scrunch all the way down, but still stays "out of the way".

I may still play with the colors a bit, but overall I'm very pleased with how this template/site turned out.

Sure... post as list of what you need here, of I can get you my email address.

Hey panther, seems good work. We are looking for someone doing screenshots of the admin areas for the various modules for the showcase. It's not yet a functional feature, but it's beeing worked on.

Care to do some?

cheers

Klaus

Well, I think I have all of the modules and a number of snippets added now for folks to see in action...

let me know if I'm missing something.

I will be adding more snippets as I find the time as well.

I'm trying to get all of them, the ones I'm still working on are:

Page Type
Gocart - just need to spend some time on this one.
Google Map - ditto
News Reader - I thought I knew how to set this up, but it isn't working with the feeds I've tried... so need to spend more time on it.
Random Image - I'm getting some errors with this one I need to figure out yet.

Image Galleries
Flickr - I don't have a flickr account, so need to set one up to test this one

Editors -
There's no way to showcase these without giving people back-end access, so I will probably just add a summary page about them

Need to add the Wrappers yet...

Miscellaneous
Zitate - it's only german, so I'm not sure I'll add this to my site

I've added all the Admin Tools other than the Language Editor, but for folks that want/need to check that stuff out I recommend opensourcecms.org

I think the only other thing I haven't added yet is Any news and Html2pdf which are on the to do list as well.

Hello,

nice side. Do you plan to install all available modules from the addons repository as a live preview, or only selected ones? There are some test installations of WB available, but non of them features all modules available on the addon repository.

I found WB maybe a week ago, but I saw immediately the potential.

I wanted/needed a site to install the different modules and test snippets and such. I figured as long as I was setting this up, I would make it a site that I could use to show potential clients the "power" of WB as well as talk up different tweeks I've made to things that will show them (hopefully) what a great site I can do for them.

To that end, I put up http://baker.mnpages.com

I already have two potential clients considering this system and I have one or two current clients I may encourage to switch to using this... especially given the ease in taking an existing site and turning it into a template.

Eventually I will be building a unique template for the site itself, possibly based on my main mnpages.com site, we'll see.

But for now, if anyone wants to see the various modules available here "in action", check it out. I did only a quick search, so others may have sites similar to this... but just in case, here's mine.
