I think any decent site dealing with CSS will also point you into the right direction. Personally I found the site www.positioniseverything.net very usefull when it comes to the behaviour analysis of the different browsers.

Hacks are, like the name says a not very nice form, additionally the will make a CSS validation test fail. Look up google for "conditional ie css" to find out how to divert to a IE stylesheet ... (OK ... at the end this is "sort of a hack" as well.

Thanks for the info Kweitzel.

At the moment I'm still finding my feet so to speak and the amount of inforamtion available on the hacks for IE.X are overwhelming.

Can you point me in the direction of some good repositories I can look at for my own education on the subject?

Thanks

Hi Peter, I usually use conditional stylesheets for IE ... that keeps the stylesheets clean and if not needed anymore it can be removed. Personally I think that is more professional than using browser hacks.

Mind you, I still use a base stylesheet with browserhacks included :-) but then, when it comes to design issues I use the conditional stylesheet calls.

Thanks to both of you for your constructive criticisms and pointers.

I've now amended the template to transitional and tested it via the W3C site and wayhey I passed.

I was always unsure about the nifty corners being there anyway so I may just rip that out of the template anyway.

I'm still trawling the internet for hacks to make sure that everyone (or as many browsers as I can!) sees the same thing or as close to the same thing as possible.

Again thanks to kweitzel and adowellin for the responses.

Nice and simple design, the way I prefer ... but you should check your doctype declaration. Currently it's HTML 4.01 Strict ... but with 1 little change you make it XHTML 1.0 Transitional ...

Then please do not forget the IE 6 users (still about 37%!) ... in IE6 the alignments are off and the Nifty Script does not work for your rounded corners.

Please do keep on with this design, it is very good.

Looking quite nice so far =) The logo is very crisp, fresh and stands out nicely. Let us know when you have more complete, good work so far!

Dear all!

I'm currently setting up my first ever WB template for my site and wanted to know if you can give some feedback on what I've done so far.

I know it's not finished just yet, still working on the links css etc but it will be the central portal for all the sites that I want to set up and create.

Any feedback / constructive criticism is greatly appreciated.
